SPLASHBALL Youth Clinic (ages 9-14)

Our “Splashball” Youth Water Polo League is our entry point in to the sport of water polo. This program is a terrific way for kids to enhance their water safety skills while being introduced to the basics of water polo. Our program is a six-week clinic designed for kids ages 10-14. All levels of experience and ability are welcome (must be able to swim 50 yards comfortably). Participants will learn the basic rules of the game, along with introductory movements and skills that will help them become more confident in the water. Participants will also be placed into teams on “Game Day” and have an opportunity to compete in a real water polo game!

Our Splashball League runs concurrently at two different geographical areas: Granite Bay and Cameron Park. So families will have the opportunity to pick the site that works for them. The “Game Day” will be held at Granite Bay High School. Participants will be able to choose which site works best for them.

What if I already have experience playing water polo?
Come try our competitive youth program! Our competitive program is for athletes who wish to compete in regional and national-level tournaments. Our competitive program is split into three seasons: Winter (Oct-Jan/Feb), Spring (Feb-April), and Summer (May-July). Athletes are required to train 6-10 hours per week (depending on the time of year) and must travel to compete in tournaments. Athletes who participate in our competitive youth program will have a significant advantage in the water when they eventually try out for their high school team.

All you’ll need is a swim suit (brief or jammer for boys and one-piece for girls), latex cap (for long hair), a towel, and a great attitude! Goggles will only be allowed during warm-up. We’ll supply the water polo balls, goals, and game caps.
