National Junior Olympics (tentative)
Each year we culminate our summer season by competing in the National Jr. Olympic Tournament, a four-day national tournament hosted by USA Water Polo. The tournament is comprised of the top 70+ teams in each age group from all across the country. It’s the largest water polo tournament in the world! Teams that wish to participate in Jr. Olympics must first qualify at their zone’s qualifying tournament. Typically, the top 10-12 teams in each age group will qualify for Jr. Olympics. Our zone’s qualifying tournament is June 19-21 in the Sacramento region. The National Jr. Olympic tournament is July 18-21 in the Bay Area.
Athletes who wish to participate in our summer water polo program are not required to participate in Jr. Olympics. All athletes who wish to participate in Jr. Olympics must first tryout and be selected for a team.
Please note, this summer program fee does not include the National Jr. Olympic Tournament. All those who tryout and make one of our JO teams will also need to pay a participation fee of TBA /athlete (not due until after the team qualifies for JO’s). This will help cover the tournament entry fee and coaches’ wages/travel/lodging. Athletes/families will be responsible for their own travel & lodging accommodations at Jr. Olympics. We will block a set of rooms at a team hotel for this event, but athletes are not required to stay in the hotel.
